Carpenter bee

Carpenter bees are large bees, resemble bumblebees but do not have the yellow hairs and the top of the abdomen is usually bare. Carpenter bee is blue-black in color with green or purple iridescence. Carpenter bees make their nests in dry wood and can cause some damage to poles or other structures. Most of the time their nests go unnoticed.
